Ladies Auxiliary

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Florida Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (LAFLSSAR), also known as the Auxiliary, is a nonprofit association of women dedicated to assisting, supporting, and advancing the objectives of the Florida Society of the Sons of the American Revolution: promoting patriotism, serving our communities, and educating and inspiring future generations. At the state level, we proudly support our Florida compatriots by encouraging the membership and raising funds to help achieve the society’s goals.

The Auxiliary is open to all women across Florida. We hold luncheon meetings twice a year during the Florida's Board of Managers meetings (Spring and Fall), which typically feature guest speakers and small service projects of interest. Fundraising during Board-of-Manager weekends often includes drawings for themed baskets and silent auction items donated by Florida's chapters or individual members, and some members wear Revolutionary-era clothing at society events in support of our Color Guard's activities.

Members are invited to attend the National Society's Spring and Fall Leadership meetings in Louisville, Kentucky, as well as the annual National Congress held each summer in different locations. Special events for Auxiliary members are planned at each Congress. We also encourage our members to support the activities of their local chapters by assisting with youth programs, service projects, grave markings, chapter banquets, fundraisers, school programs, and similar activities.

We the Ladies Auxiliary of the Sons of the American Revolution carry the weight of tradition and the love of country and liberty. We believe in the Constitution and recognize the sacrifices of our forefathers. We give our blessings for peace, liberty and pledge our devotion to the United States of America.

History of the Auxiliary

  • ​1984: The first Ladies Auxiliary of the Sons of the American Revolution was founded in California.
  • ​1998: The Ladies Auxiliary of Florida was organized.
  • ​2003: The National Ladies Auxiliary of the Sons of the American Revolution was formed.

Today the Florida Ladies Auxiliary is among 25 state organizations in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and a group of members at large who live in States without a Ladies Auxiliary.
